Werner Launches Head-to-Head Campaign To Challenge Industry Competitors
Werner Releases Video that takes on Competition in Canada
GREENVILLE, Pa., April 23, 2013 /CNW/ - Werner Co., announced the Head-to-Head challenge that pits the company's climbing equipment against the competition. To help kick off the campaign and drive product and brand awareness, Werner has launched an entertaining hockey video featuring players who drop their gloves and end up going at it with…ladders.
Recently Werner has expanded into the Canadian market and provides a comprehensive product portfolio for both DIYers and professional contractors. As part of this Head-to-Head campaign, Werner is testing its products against the competition in Canada to highlight the company's product advantages and unique distinctions in safety and overall quality. Through a series of videos that are available online at www.wernerheadtohead.ca, several products were put to the test in areas of safety, durability and reliability; issues important to today's Canadian tradesmen.
"We are adamant about continually testing and improving our products to ensure the best quality possible for our end users," said Chris Filardi, Vice President of Marketing for Werner Co. "Because our products are designed by and for professionals, we were eager to showcase how Werner ladders stack up against the competition from a functionality and benefits perspective."
Werner's Head-to-Head ladder challenge beats the competition in the following ways:
- Reliability and Durability: Working directly with end-users Werner knows that ladders get banged around on a jobsite and need to be able to take a beating. As a solution, Werner developed the patented EDGE bracing at the bottom of their fiberglass ladders to compensate for a ladder being dropped over and over. During a drop test demonstration, the Werner bracing absorbed the impact while the competitor's ladder was damaged after being dropped. This damage will eventually result in the ladder being taken out of service.
- Ladder Sturdiness: Not only does the Werner ladder feel more sturdy and safe, there are specific construction differences that prove it is, including a wider distance at the feet of the ladder and more depth for improved standing comfort. The fiberglass rail, which is created by a proprietary pultrusion process, is a 7-layer construction making it strong and durable. You can feel a significant difference when climbing a Werner ladder vs. the competition.
- Productivity: Werner developed the Lock-In-System featuring accessories that "lock in" to the HolsterTop of specially designed stepladders to provide a more efficient way of keeping all tools, supplies and materials close at hand and to eliminate countless trips up and down the ladder. Werner's innovative accessories, such as the utility bucket and paint cup, can hold paint, tools and small parts to increase overall productivity. The HolsterTop can also hold drills, screwdrivers, hammers, nails and many trade-specific items professionals need at their fingertips.
- Solid Construction: Werner patented a rung to rail connection—called ALFLO®—that eliminates their extension ladders from twisting. With little effort, the competitor's ladder twists very easily, which compromises the safety of the individual climbing the ladder and which may require the ladder to be taken out of service.
Werner became the world leader in ladders by developing products designed for how contractors work. Werner listens to end users and designs products based on specific application needs on the jobsite and in the home.
