TORONTO, Jan. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - WeirFoulds LLP is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Statham, a member of the firm's Management Committee, as Managing Partner effective January 1, 2013.
Mr. Statham joined WeirFoulds after obtaining his LL.B. from Dalhousie Law School in 1996. He became a partner in 2006, and has been a member of the firm's Management Committee since 2009. His business litigation practice encompasses a wide range of complex commercial and contractual disputes. In 2010, Mr. Statham was recognized by Lexpert as a "Rising Star - Leading Lawyer under 40".
Mr. Statham succeeds Lisa Borsook who has served as the firm's Managing Partner for the past six years.
WeirFoulds is also pleased to announce that Lisa Borsook has been appointed Executive Partner - a newly created role for the firm focusing on client engagement and development initiatives. The creation of this role reflects the firm's commitment to providing direct access to its most senior and experienced resources in these priority areas.
Ms. Borsook will continue to act as chair of the firm's commercial leasing practice, which represents local, national and international clients with sophisticated leasing and property development requirements, including retail, industrial, office, brownfields and ground lease matters.
