From a fresh, contemporary interface, employers and flexible job seekers provide specific details, get matched and then communicate directly with one another to discuss the details and terms. No middleman, no agency, no fuss.

Ideal for small to medium sized companies and especially for startups that may not have the need or budget to hire full-time staff. Companies will find professionals, or "workhoppers," who are specifically looking for temporary, seasonal, casual, freelance, gig, contract or part-time positions. Whether it's to hire a designer for a new logo, a blogger on a contract basis, part time retail or merchandising help, a brand ambassador, or a marketing consultant, companies can choose from thousands of profiles and simply connect.

Flexible job seekers sign up for free to create a profile that advertises their skills, availability, photo, reviews, and so forth. Unlike job boards, seekers not only post a resume but also pick from hundreds of specific job categories revealing their preferences. Employers can post one job at no cost, or pay an affordable fee to announce unlimited job openings and contact workhoppers. All jobs and companies listed on the site are reviewed to ensure legitimacy. The website takes no commissions for successful connections.

Workhoppers, a global site, is available in English and French and will soon be available in Spanish. Workhoppers encourages employers to find local professionals so that they can meet face-to-face and report to one another more effectively.

Workhoppers, the newest Canadian solution to finding flexible staff,  was started by Vera Gavizon and Linda Singer, two professionals and working mothers, who experienced the challenge of finding interesting flexible work that also required professional skills, and led to an overall career path. With 33% of the U.S. workforce working as freelancers, the co-founders believe that an easy, safe and cost effective solution is needed to connect companies with these professionals. After one year online in beta, Workhoppers has close to 10,000 members with more than 80% of them having post-secondary education.
