Webinar - What should your conflict minerals report look like?
SEC filing for the 2014 reporting period
OTTAWA, Feb. 20, 2015 /CNW/ - On 3 March 2015, Claigan Environmental Inc. (www.claigan.com) will present a webinar on recommended content for a conflict minerals report filed with the SEC by an issuer for the 2014 reporting period. There is tremendous confusion in industry regarding the required content of an issuer's SEC conflict minerals report. This webinar will cover the required and recommended content of a conflict minerals report submission to the SEC.
The SEC's final rules regarding compliance with section 1502 of Dodd-Frank are long, fairly complicated, and often subject to frequent misinterpretation. The most common misinterpretation is that review of supplier CMRT forms constitutes due diligence. Due diligence and the content of a conflict minerals report is to focus on the smelters and refiners that are sourcing from the DRC or surrounding countries.
This webinar will discuss the fundamental requirements, industry approaches, and recommended sections and content.
Topics covered in this webinar will focus on:
- SEC requirements
- Sections of the conflict minerals report
- Addressing due diligence
- Communicating due diligence results
- OECD due diligence guidance
- Facility and mine information
- Determination of conflict-free nature
- Best practices
- Common errors and challenges
Due to interest in this topic, two (2) webinars are being held on March 3rd to accommodate a larger audience.
