Watt Carmichael Inc. hires former HSBC Securities head as new President
TORONTO, Aug. 14, 2012 /CNW/ - Watt Carmichael Inc. announced today that they have brought former HSBC Securities Inc. executive Martin Sims in as President and Chief Operating Officer to help lead them forward. Sims spent seven years at HSBC where he helped grow their full service investment advisory business from $5B to $14.5B in assets. He successfully led the firm through the 2008 financial crisis as Executive Vice President & National Director and head of their Private Client Group before leaving in 2010 prior to the firm being sold to National Bank Financial. He has over 20 years of financial services experience in various roles. with Midland Walwyn, Merrill Lynch, Charles Schwab, Thomson Kernaghan, HSBC and Accretive Advisor.
