- As of 15 April 2013, the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) operates on a new trading system - the Universal Trading Platform (UTP) which represents world-class quality in technology and places WSE among the most advanced global stock exchanges.
- Thanks to the new technology WSE gains access to new classes of instruments, investment techniques and trading functionalities.
- As the largest stock exchange in the Central and Eastern Europe, WSE continues to strengthen its leading position in the region.
WARSAW, Poland, April 15, 2013 /CNW/ - UTP conforms to the top global standards and addresses the growing requirements of market participants while ensuring the organisation of trading in line with global trends. This platform has been developed by NYSE Technologies and is familiar to international investors and brokers on the biggest global markets: the same platform is used by NYSE Euronext exchanges in New York, London, Paris, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Brussels as well as other stock markets.
- Implementation of the state-of-the art exchange technology on WSE opens a new variety of opportunities for all market participants. New trading system creates conditions for significant growth in liquidity, allows development of new products and gives access to new investment techniques, such as algorithmic trading. I believe that the completion of such a break-through project on the Polish capital market will have significant impact on further development of the market as well as will strengthen its attractiveness among domestic and foreign investors and potential issuers - said Adam Maciejewski, President and CEO of the WSE.
UTP is much faster and offers superior throughput, scalability and capacity than preceding system. In practice, it can handle 20 thousand orders per second and latency (response time to submitted orders) will be cut to microseconds. With UTP, the Polish capital market opens up to new groups of investors including large global investment firms engaged in algorithmic trading. This presents an opportunity for growth and gives Exchange Members a chance to increase their revenues with the implementation of innovative solutions. Along with the migration on UTP, WSE introduces new trading timetable.
