ViXS™ Industry Leading Media Processor and Dual Stream HD Transcoder Powers Toshiba's Blu-ray™ and Consumer Electronics Products
The ViXS XCode® 4210 network media processor and transcoder delivers unprecedented performance, feature set and integration making it the ideal choice to power Toshiba's newest Regza Blu-ray (BD) product and integrated BD module for High Definition TV (HDTV)
TORONTO, Aug. 29, 2012 /CNW/ - ViXS Systems Inc. today announces that the ViXS XCode 4210 powers Toshiba's BD standalone and integrated BD module for HDTVs. The XCode 4210 is a network media processor and transcoding single chip System on Chip (SoC). The first of a brand new category of standalone BD player and writer products is called the D-BR1. The second XCode 4210 based product is a BD player and writer module integrated in two TV products. The Toshiba TV models that integrate the XCode 4210 based BD Player and writer are the 40HB2 a 40" HDTV and the 32HB2 a 32" HDTV. These BD writer and player products have the same capability as BD writers sold on the market today but also support AVCHD streaming via USB allowing the user to record the content of a video camera directly to a BD disk. The D-BR1 is also a fully capable 3D TV BD player.
Toshiba has set a new world standard of performance, integration, power consumption and price points for consumer electronics devices in this class by dramatically reducing the form factor with the single chip XCode 4210 SoC. The D-BR1 stand alone device is only 238 x 33 x 196 mm in size and consumes only 12 W in power.
"The XCode 4210 has achieved the objective set for it: to become the central media processor - the heart of the system - with the world's leading consumer electronics manufacturers" said Sally Daub, President and CEO, ViXS Systems Inc. "ViXS is delivering what its customers require: advanced feature set, high levels of integration and full system support".
