Visual Artist Giovanni Angeloro Announces Launch of First Fashion Menswear Limited Edition at Leonardo da Vinci Centre in Montreal
MONTREAL, Nov. 14, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Giovanni Angeloro announced today the upcoming launch of his first fashion menswear collection at Leonardo da Vinci Center in Montreal. The limited edition includes long and short sleeves tees and hand-embellished scarves. ''It is my way of integrating my artistic perspective and identity into fashion.'' says Giovanni Angeloro.
The menswear collection will be showcased and be part of Angeloro's painting exhibition ''From New York to Montreal'', previously shown in New York in December 2015. Opening night is scheduled at La Piazzetta Gallery within the Leonardo da Vinci Center in Montreal on November 17, 2016. The profits related to the sales of this limited edition will be donated to the Italian-Canadian Community Foundation (FCCIQ) and will contribute to support towns of central Italy that were hit by the earthquake.
''From New York to Montreal'' will bring to view twenty paintings, eight of which will be donated to the Leonardo da Vinci Centre and be permanently displayed in the Lino & Mirella Saputo Theatre. The exhibition will run until November 22, 2016.
Giovanni Angeloro is currently working on a new art exhibition that will include his first fall menswear collection to be presented in New York in February 2017.
About the artist
- Giovanni Angeloro is a visual artist of Italian descent born in Montreal. His work reflects an energetic execution which produces paintings where unpredictable shapes, changing textures and varied colors are enhanced by shifting light. He received a Silver Medal for his painting Wild Roses (Les roses de la muse) at the 31st International Contest in Visual Arts Light and Sound in Montreal - CAPSQ - in May 2015, an Award of Great Distinction for his abstract painting Ricordati di me at the exhibition La diversità dell'arte at Galleria Pigna, Palazzo Maffei Marescotti at the Vatican, as well as a Certificate of Honor for his contribution to promote Canadian art on the international scene in November 2014. He is also member of the International Association of Clothing Designers & Executives (IACDE), the Canadian Apparel Federation (CAF), the Surface Design Association (SDA) and the Fashion Industry Association (FIA).
