Love is in the air in Victoria, British Columbia as locals hold their two-year reign as the Most Romantic City in Canada
The province of Ontario knows how to show the love with seven cities in the top 20 and British Columbia takes the second spot with five cities in the top rankings
SEATTLE, Feb. 3, 2014 /CNW/ - As we head into the month of love, Amazon.ca today revealed the fifth annual ranking of the Most Romantic Cities in Canada. The list was compiled by comparing sales data from Jan. 1, 2013 - Jan. 3, 2014 of romance novels and relationship books (Kindle books and print books); romantic comedies; and a collection of romantic music CDs from artists such as Dean Martin, Barry White, Luther Vandross, Miguel and Michael Bublé on a per capita basis in cities with more than 80,000 residents.

When taking a closer look at the data, we found:
- Victoria's Vision of Love: When it comes to treating their Valentines, the locals in Victoria aren't afraid to show a little affection. The city ranked highest in all categories, purchasing the most romance novels and relationship books, romantic comedy DVDs and romantic CDs.
- Winnipeg Rises the Ranks: Ranked second overall and up from the number 11 spot in 2013, residents in Winnipeg also earned a No. 2 spot when it came to enjoying romance novels. Locals in Winnipeg purchased the most romantic print and Kindle books including regency romance, gothic romance, romantic suspense and historical romance books.
- We Found Love in Waterloo: Waterloo didn't trail Victoria by much when it comes to being romantic. Residents in Waterloo ranked second for ordering the most romantic comedies.
- Not So Silly Love Songs for North Vancouverites: Residents in North Vancouver know how to enjoy a love song or two and ranked second for purchasing the most romantic CDs.
- New Love: New to the Most Romantic Cities top 20 list, Niagara Falls, Langley, Brantford, Sherbrooke, Pickering and Cambridge showed a renewed sprit for romance this year.
