TORONTO, Aug. 14 /CNW/ - THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO HAS ISSUED A "RED ALERT" FOR A TORNADO WARNING FOR THE AREAS OF Hanover - Dundalk - Southern Grey County and Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County.

Emergency Situation: There is a tornado warning in and around the areas of Hanover - Dundalk - Southern Grey County, Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County.

Recommended Actions: Emergency Management Ontario recommends that persons in the area described above should closely monitor their local weather conditions and be prepared to take shelter IMMEDIATELY if threatening weather approaches. The best shelter is an enclosed, well-constructed building away from exterior walls and windows, preferably in a basement area if possible. People currently outside of the Red Alert area are advised not to enter this area until further notice. Do not call 911 for information about this emergency. Remain tuned to this station for updated weather information and further instructions.

This Red Alert broadcast request will end at 2200hrs, unless a further extension is requested.
