UPDATE - Media Advisory - Government of Canada, Métis, Inuit and First Nations Leaders to Meet on Co-Development of Legislation for Indigenous Languages

Partners will collaborate on the co-development of legislation for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis languages

OTTAWA, June 15, 2017 /CNW/ - The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, will be in Ottawa today to meet with Métis, Inuit and First Nations leaders on the co-development of legislation for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis languages.

Present at the meeting will be Minister Joly, Clément Chartier, President of the Métis National Council, Natan Obed, President of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami and National Chief Perry Bellegarde of the Assembly of First Nations.

Following the declaration, the partners will be available to answer questions from the media.
