UAP Celebrates 100 Years with a $100,000 Donation to the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation. A four-year partnership to help preserve and showcase Montreal's history

MONTRÉAL, Oct. 21, 2026 /CNW/ -- To mark a century of history and commitment to the city where it all began, UAP is announcing a $100,000 donation to the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation, spread over four years. Through this partnership, the company wishes to celebrate its 100th anniversary with a meaningful and lasting contribution to the preservation and promotion of Montreal's historical heritage.

The story of UAP began in 1926 with the opening of its first United Auto Parts (UAP) store on Park Avenue. One hundred years later, the company has become a Canadian leader in the distribution of automotive and heavy-duty vehicle parts and accessories, while remaining deeply connected to its Montreal roots.

To celebrate this important milestone in its history, UAP has chosen to partner with Pointe-à-Callière, Montreal's archaeology and history complex, an iconic institution that plays an essential role in preserving and sharing the city's heritage.

Located on the very site where Montreal was founded, the Museum's mission is to foster an appreciation of Montreal, past and present. Through its exhibitions, activities and initiatives, it highlights the places, events and people that have shaped the city and contributed to its development.

This partnership also strengthens an already well-established relationship between UAP and the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation. Alain Primeau has served on the Foundation's Board of Directors since 2018, reflecting his personal commitment to the Museum's mission and his strong connection to the Montreal community.

A Partnership Taking Flight at the Bal de MTL This four-year collaboration will officially kick off on October 23 at the fourth edition of the Bal de MTL. UAP will serve as the presenting sponsor of this flagship fundraising event for the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation.

Under the theme Montreal in Motion, the evening will bring together more than 500 guests at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montreal and take them on a journey through the city's history, told through the evolution of transportation. The theme is particularly meaningful for UAP, whose business has helped keep Canadians moving for a century.

Alain Primeau will serve as Honorary Co-Chair of this fourth edition alongside Mélanie Lussier, President and CEO of Aéro Montréal, and Yves Beauchamp, President and CEO of ADM Aéroports de Montréal.

As UAP celebrates its centennial in 2026 and Pointe-à-Callière prepares to mark its 35th anniversary in 2027, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to bringing Montreal's history to life, celebrating those who have contributed to its development and passing this legacy on to future generations.
