Annual awards will acknowledge accomplishments in public safety
TORONTO, March 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Ontario's public safety regulator, the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), launched its inaugural Safety Awards program today.
The annual awards will acknowledge the exceptional accomplishments of individuals and organizations in public safety. The first awards will be presented at TSSA's annual general meeting scheduled for September 29, 2015 in Toronto.
"Ontario's enviable public safety record is the result of partnerships and collaborations between TSSA, industry partners, safety advocates and technical experts," said Michael Beard, TSSA's President and CEO. "These awards will recognize the contributions made by those who bring a level of greater safety awareness to the betterment of their businesses, their colleagues and the members of the public with whom they interact," he added.
Nominations of individual and organizations working in TSSA's regulated sectors - fuels, elevating and amusement devices, boilers and pressure vessels, operating engineers, ski lifts and upholstered and stuffed articles – will be accepted until June 1 for this year's awards.
Additional details and the nomination form are available on TSSA's corporate website at: https://www.tssa.org/regulated/about/safetyawards.aspx
