Travelocity.ca and Walt Disney Studios Canada team up to help Canadians enjoy being "Frozen"
TORONTO, Dec. 13, 2013 /CNW/ - With Canadian winter looming, Travelocity.ca and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Canada, whose epic adventure "Frozen" hit theatres on November 27, know the search for sun will soon begin. To help Canadians get their dose of vitamin D and take the edge off of our own frozen home and native land, Travelocity.ca is offering Canadians a chance to get frozen, then thaw out with a trip to a sunny destination.
To promote the theatrical release of Disney's "Frozen", Travelocity.ca today launched a contest giving Canadians the chance to win a family trip for four to Riviera Maya, Mexico. Participants simply add frozen effects or Travelocity.ca's Roaming Gnome to their favourite beach photo, and upload it to Travelocity.ca's Facebook page to enter. Each unique photo submission gives users one entry into a draw for the grand prize of a week in the sunny south this winter. Five secondary prizes will be awarded, including the Disney Infinity video game, Anna and Elsa Character Toy Sets and fun "Frozen" prize packs.
"This is the first time we've worked with Walt Disney Studios in Canada and the relationship is fitting," said Brian Simpson, Resident Travel Expert, Travelocity.ca. "As temperatures here start to plunge, Canadians will long for the warmth of the sun, mirroring the storyline of Disney's "Frozen" characters as they search for an end to their eternal winter."
To coincide with the Facebook contest, Travelocity.ca is offering Canadians the chance to escape winter by putting the sun on sale. The sale, which includes most sunny destinations, also offers discounts of $50 off a $350 hotel booking, and $100 off a $1,500 Flight + Hotel booking, as well as a "Frozen" gift.
In "Frozen," which opened in theatres across Canada on November 27, fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) teams up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna's sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.
