Travel advisory - Train service between Halifax and Moncton is cancelled today
MONTRÉAL, Feb. 18, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - VIA Rail Canada (VIA Rail) wishes to inform its passengers that train service between Halifax and Moncton (#15, the Westbound Ocean) is cancelled today, February 18th. During the last few days, CN freight trains blocking the railway have prevented VIA Rail's equipment from reaching Halifax. Service between Moncton and Montréal is not affected.
VIA Rail will provide alternate transportation to customers travelling between Halifax and Moncton today.
VIA Rail is communicating with customers who have reservations on the affected train. We regret the inconvenience that this situation may cause. Customers wishing to cancel or change their date of travel may do so at no additional charge by calling 1 888 VIA-RAIL (1 888 842-7245) or 1 800 268-9503 (hearing impaired).
Reminder -- Changes to Ocean schedule
Benefitting from recent improvements to infrastructure, the Ocean service will be following a new schedule, effective as of today, February 18, 2015. Travel time for trains between Montréal and Halifax will be reduced slightly.
