TRACE, SNC-Lavalin and ENSafrica launch anti-bribery and business ethics campaign in South Africa Français
ANNAPOLIS, Md., Oct. 20, 2016 /CNW/ -- TRACE International, the globally renowned anti-bribery business association, in collaboration with SNC-Lavalin, a world leader in engineering and construction services, and ENSafrica, Africa's largest law firm, today announced the launch of an anti-bribery and ethics awareness raising campaign in South Africa. The campaign aims to standardize anti-bribery/FCPA compliance and business ethics among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and multinationals operating in the region.
Under the initiative, SMEs will have the opportunity to complete TRACEcertification, a comprehensive due diligence review, analysis and approval process, at no cost for one year, and will be invited to attend an anti-bribery training workshop in Johannesburg in February 2017. Companies that complete TRACEcertification gain a valuable compliance credential that differentiates them from competitors and is widely recognized in the international business community. They also receive a copy of their verified due diligence report to share with an unlimited number of existing and prospective business partners.
"As part of SNC-Lavalin's commitment to supporting anti-corruption initiatives globally we are glad to partner with TRACE International and ENSafrica on this ethics awareness campaign. We welcome the opportunity to contribute to a campaign aimed at promoting ethical business in the region," says Dr. Hentie Dirker, Chief Compliance Officer at SNC-Lavalin.
This campaign is part of TRACE's Certify the World program which aims to increase commercial transparency worldwide by reducing due diligence costs and supporting the efforts of companies to meet increasing compliance demands.
"We selected South Africa as our next campaign location (previous locations have included Ghana and the UAE) due to its high commercial activity, demand for anti-bribery and ethics training and large pool of SMEs working with multinational companies," said TRACE President Alexandra Wrage. "We are delighted to be working with SNC-Lavalin and our partner firm, ENSafrica, on this important initiative."
