Toys"R"Us® Canada launches its 2017 Play Book, exciting in-store events and a new augmented reality experience for the holidays Français
TORONTO, Nov. 2, 2017 /CNW/ - The festive season is in full swing at Toys"R"Us® Canada with the arrival of the only toy guide parents and gift-givers need – Toys"R"Us Canada's iconic Play Book. As The Ultimate Guide to Play, the Play Book includes 52-pages filled with the hottest toys, products that can only be found at Toys"R"Us and exclusive offers like free shipping*. Toys"R"Us Canada is also ringing in the holiday season with an exciting line-up of in-store events and activities the whole family can enjoy, including the launch of a new free augmented reality (AR) app called Play Chaser (excludes Québec).

Highlights of events and activities happening across all Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us® stores in Canada include:
- Starlight Children's Foundation Canada Campaign – In the spirit of giving and as part of Toys"R"Us Canada's philanthropic initiatives, from Friday, October 20th to Sunday, December 31st customers can purchase the 2017 Starlight Bear Sloan in store or online at toysrus.ca. The self-titled collectible bear was designed by 5-year-old Sloan who is living with a life-threatening intestinal disease. Shoppers can also make a donation to the foundation anytime they shop in store or online. All proceeds support Starlight Children's Foundation Canada's mission to brighten the lives of seriously ill children across Canada. Last year, more than $1.5 million was raised through the campaign.
- Wishing Workshop – Naughty or Nice? Everyone is invited to a Toys"R"Us location on Saturday, November 4th to build their holiday wish list and drop it in our mailbox – going directly to the man in charge – Santa! The event will include giveaways for the first 200 kids, PLUS an opportunity to get a photo taken with Geoffrey the Giraffe.
- Sensory-Friendly Shopping Hour – Just in time for the holidays, Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us Canada will host its second Sensory-Friendly Shopping Hour on Sunday, November 12th ensuring everyone can enjoy the magic and wonder of a toy store. As part of the event, all stores across Canada will open one hour early. During this time, there will be no music or announcements, lighting will be dimmed, and designated quiet spaces will be located throughout the store. Families can also enjoy in-store product demonstrations and activities with toys identified as ideal for children on the autism spectrum.
- Grandparents Day – To help all gift-givers through the season, Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us are honouring Grand-givers with a personalized shopping experience on Tuesday, November 14th. Holiday Helpers are on hand to help grandparents navigate the busy aisles, pick out the hottest toys and select awesome gifts for everyone on their list. Book an appointment in advance with our holiday experts at toysrus.ca/grandevent to reserve a spot.

New this year, kids and shoppers can also experience Toys"R"Us stores (excluding Québec) in a whole new way with the launch of the free Play Chaser App. Simply download the app and scan the Play Chaser signs at any Toys"R"Us store to turn toy shopping into an interactive play experience. Play fun games, experience unique AR effects and collect valuable stars that unlock even more fun – from being the driver in a monster truck race and taking a trek in the jungle to fighting off alien invaders.
