Toys for tomorrow's leaders - Evolve Toys, a new online-only toy store shakes-up the toy industry
MONTREAL, Sept. 20, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - With the retail landscape changing and more bricks and mortars store closing, the launch of Evolve Toys couldn't come at a better time.
Launched just five weeks ago, what sets www.evolvetoys.com apart from other retailers, is that they specialize in cutting-edge, top educational toys. Most specifically toys that fall within the S.T.E.A.M approach of teaching.
Evolve Toys is an online-only toy shop.
S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) is a teaching methodology that integrates all of the disciplines rather than teaching them separately.
What Evolve Toys brings to the mainstream, to the everyday parent and child, are toys that aren't your known brand names and that aren't readily available in big box stores.
"Our toys expose children as young as three years old to coding, engineering, space exploration and so much more," explains Mitch Besner, co-founder and owner of Evolve Toys.
"We hand select and specially curate our product. We make sure that it's engaging, interactive, stimulating, cool and innovative with the purpose to seamlessly merge play and higher learning. Anything less would be a disservice to our children."
Evolve Toys' product fosters learning, breeds curiosity, provides children with a meaningful educational experience and empowers them. But most importantly they are a blast to play with. The goal is to give all children a change to play to grow, to learn, to discover and to explore.
The aim is to promote the development of skills that will shape future leaders and therefore supports the company's claim Evolve Toys, Toys for Tomorrow's Leaders.
As the parents of three young girls, Mitchell and Keren Besner noticed a lack in educational value in the toys that their own children played with. Over the years they had seen too many toys being left aside, collecting dust because they didn't provide much past the pretty colours, busy packaging and initial hype. So they decided to take action. With a background in the toy industry, as the former owner of Twenty10 Licensing, a toy manufacturing business that was sold in 2010, Mitchell Besner decided to launch Evolve Toys, and was soon joined by his wife Keren Besner, a marketing expert who recently worked at Artemano.
