Toronto Port Authority provides update on formal RFP for additional carriers
at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport

TORONTO, May 19 /CNW/ - The Toronto Port Authority ("TPA") today announced that the formal Request for Proposal ("RFP") issued on April 9, 2010 for additional commercial airline carriers at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport ("BBTCA") has produced proposals from two prospective commercial carriers. These two proposals are now being reviewed. Airport Coordination Limited ("ACL") will assist in the assessment as necessary to ensure the business proposals meet the requirements as outlined by the RFP, which closed at 5 p.m. on May 14, 2010.

"The TPA received responses from two parties interested in providing commercial airline service to visitors and residents via the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport," said Geoff Wilson, President and CEO of the TPA. "Once assessed, the proposals that meet the RFP requirements for additional commercial airline carriers will then be further evaluated by ACL as part of the slot allocation process."

ACL is an United Kingdom-based independent consultancy firm specializing in demand and capacity assessment and scheduling process management. TPA appointed ACL to independently manage the commercial carrier demand and allocate the available slots for the BBTCA to proponents implementing a methodology that is similar to those used at other North American airports.

Proponents that submitted formal business proposals to provide additional commercial airline services out of the BBTCA will be contacted on the status and results of the formal RFP process, and may be requested to provide additional information as a result of their RFP documentation.
