TORONTO, Sept. 25, 2018 /CNW/ - Tokyo Smoke, the Canadian Cannabis Awards Brand of the Year, has completed the Cannabis Retail Organization Agreement and Cannabis Store Retailer Agreements with the Province of Manitoba and is set to open an initial four stores in the province.
Tokyo Smoke, with its education first approach to cannabis, will begin their expansion into Manitoba by opening up to four locations in the City of Winnipeg and one in the City of Brandon. Tokyo Smoke's Retail Organization Agreement enables it to build up to ten stores in the province including Dauphin, Portage la Prairie and Thompson, subject to social responsibility location reviews. The immersive, experiential retail environments will be the first cannabis dispensing stores for the award-winning retailer, building on their existing coffee and design focused accessory stores that already operate in Toronto and Calgary.

The driving force behind Tokyo Smoke is education and the reduction of stigma surrounding cannabis. The retail environments will be an active part of the community, not just another store front. Prior to opening, Tokyo Smoke will host community officials, public safety personnel, as well as members of the general public for an in-depth open house and tour of the store, with presentations from staff, prior to the official openings. We will continue to run education events and create partnerships with organizations in the province in the same way we have done in Toronto and Calgary.
