Tiercel Technology Corp. receives Federal Grant

PRINCETON, ON, June 27, 2012 /CNW/ - The ability for a Brant County based business to improve its leadership role in whole home air purification was assisted by an Engage Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) on Wednesday.

Second Wind Air Purifier™, a division of Tiercel Technology Corp was awarded the grant, which will be administered by Dr. W.A. Anderson from the University of Waterloo's Department of Chemical Engineering.

The scope of the grant is to optimize the company's technology and products - residential and commercial air purifiers that attack contaminants in HVAC systems with germicidal UV-C light and patented Photo-Catalytic Oxidation (PCO) processes for control of odours, bioaerosols, viruses and organic substances.

"When Second Wind Air Purifier™ arrived in 1990, there were few companies manufacturing these devices," said Tom Wilson, President. "Today, the market has been saturated by sub-standard ultraviolet offerings that HVAC manufacturers have added to their existing product mix that often do very little for Indoor Air Quality."
