Thousands say goodbye to expensive, restrictive wireless contracts and switch to Mobilicity over weekend

National Break Your Wireless Contract Day video documents event, thanking Canadians for their support

TORONTO, June 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Mobilicity today released a video to thank the thousands of Canadians who broke their wireless contracts last weekend during National Break Your Wireless Contract Day.

The video captures Big 3 consumers ringing the Mobilicity bell as they break their contracts and switch to Mobilicity's affordable, no-contract unlimited talk, text and data service. It also includes footage of the event's bold Break Free campaign's mass advertising, building projections, chalk art, chain gang street team and a celebratory parade.

"Everyone at Mobilicity, from our dealer principals and part-time store staff to our team at head office wanted to personally thank Canada for making National Break Your Wireless Contract Day a big success," said Mobilicity Chief Customer Officer Anthony Booth. "Thank you for your support and joining with us in proclaiming that Canadians deserve freedom and that wireless contracts put that freedom at risk."

About 12% of all consumer complaints in Canada concern wireless contracts, according to Montreal-based non-for-profit consumer advocacy group Option Consommateurs.
