MONTRÉAL, July 10, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Football fans have a date at 3 p.m. this Sunday at Parc Jean-Drapeau, where they can watch the live giant-screen telecast of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil final between Germany and Argentina. The free giant-screen telecast, which is being held in conjunction with the Week-ends du monde event presented by Loto-Québec, will allow "footie" enthusiasts to experience the ambiance of an outdoor stadium; it's the only place in Montréal where you can actually feel the Brazilian heat! Many free activities to create excitement on the site are being planned, starting at 11 a.m.
Activities for everyone
To get into the swing of this final match, artists will be on hand to apply makeup to youngsters and adults alike, so they can sport the colours of their favourite team. Meanwhile, mini soccer fields will be set up for short games between teams of four players, and there will also be plenty of fun games and entertainment, along with DJs who will be playing some muy caliente music to enliven the festivities.
And after the game the festivities continue at Place des Traditions with the must-see Montréal Brazilian Summer Carnival, where samba dancers with their flashy costumes, athletes who practise the capoeira (Brazilian martial arts) and percussionists will get people of every community dancing to the frenetic beat of the music.
Admission is free. The World Cup final telecast is being shown through the participation of our many partners, including ici Radio-Canada, evenko, the City of Montréal, Pitch and Meg.
