Surprises Women with a Gift of Designer Shoes

The Online Shoe Company Randomly Gives Away Shoes Valued at up to $990

TORONTO, Sept. 25, 2014 /CNW/ - In celebration of its first year in business, Co-Founders of The September, Christine Carlton and Aynsley Wintrip Harris took to the streets of downtown Toronto recently, to surprise women with free designer shoes.  The company created a video, showing the surprise in action and the reactions of the lucky recipients, entitled, "The Designer Shoe Surprise."

"We're often asked why we decided that shoes would be the focus of our business," said Carlton, "You need only offer free designer shoes to women on the street to understand how shoes are universally appreciated by all types of women.  The video says it all."

The video shows women talking about why they love shoes and their reactions when they're surprised with a brand new pair.  The pumps, boots and flats were worth between $198 and $990, from brands such as Aquazzura, Kate Spade, Cole Haan, L.K. Bennett, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Casadei, Tabitha Simmons, and Vince. 

"We've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support we've received from our customers in our first year," said Wintrip Harris. "They rave about the experience we provide and quite often that includes an element of surprise, so we thought it would be fun to take the notion of 'surprise and delight' to the streets."

Each customer who purchases from The September, receives their shoes wrapped in branded gift wrap and grosgrain ribbon.  It's just one element of the high-touch experience the digital company has created for its customers. 

In addition to surprising women on the street with a gift of new shoes, The September donated 10 pairs to Dress For Success Toronto, a charity that supports the economic independence of disadvantaged women, by providing them with professional attire.
