MONTREAL, Oct. 3, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - On October 16th, the Théâtre Aux Écuries and LA SERRE — arts vivants invites the public to a performance by Rien à cacher Collective at BAnQ Vieux-Montréal in the framework of POSSIBLES, a project part of the official programming of the celebrations for the 375th Anniversary of Montreal.
Rien à cacher
At a time of massive collection of online data, Rien à cacher suggests a documented reflexion on our relationship with the shifting notion of privacy. Dominique Leclerc, Patrice Charbonneau-Brunelle, François Édouard Bernier and Marilou Craft, all born in the 80s, were all privileged witness of this radical change of the paradigm of intimacy. Stemming from archives, converences, thorough research and interviews with surveillance specialists, they conceived a dynamic performance on the topic of data collection and on the worries that emerge from Big data. Inspired from the documentary format, the show outlines the governmental programs of social surveillance and of the merchandizing of our personal data for businesses, in order to examine the direct impact of such digital radiography on our everyday life.
After the performance, the public the public is invited to a detox interactive exhibition. Instructors from ESN514 will be present to answer all questions related to the protection of private life and to accompany those who wish in their first steps towards digital security!

About Rien à cacher Collective
During the creation of ishow, a performative show mediated by technology, three artists of the collective (Dominique Leclerc, Patrice Charbonneau-Brunelle et François Édouard Bernier) became fascinated by the quantified self, these digital traces left on the web, despite us. Marilou Craft, playwright and law student, joined them to develop a creation on this topic. Simultaneously, in the media, the whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed more and more troubling information on the massive collection of data by governments and private companies. The four creators felt the urgency to connect these revelations to their work in progress to explore the risk of uncovering private life. Rien à cacher was thus created, and its first version was read in April 2016 at the Jamais Lu Festival.

| This coming December 8, POSSIBLES will be taking over the Grande Bibliothèque at the heart of the Quartier des spectacles, indoors and outside! Over the course of the evening, you can experience the 11 first events once again and inaugurate an immersive installation that takes visitors on a riveting journey through the imagination and memory of the library. |
| This major celebration will also mark the unveiling of the POSSIBLES Manifesto, a synthesis of shared explorations cultivated during an entire year of productions presented as part of Montréal's 375th celebrations. |

POSSIBLES
POSSIBLES merges art and civic engagement in the perspective of sustainable community development. Once a month throughout the year 2017, POSSIBLES will present the works of 12 artists from various art disciplines in collaboration with 12 creative partnerships in 12 unusual Montreal venues.
The objective: Provide a platform to up-and-coming artists by inviting them to create new POSSIBLES exploring 12 local issues that arose from discussions with the community.

Théâtre Aux Écuries
The Théâtre Aux Écuries is a creation and diffusion centre which allows companies and artists to experiment and test their ideas freely, in order to realize their silliest theatrical projects. Directed by nine artistic codirectors, this place reflects the diversity of theatrical practices and plurality of voices. After six years, over a hundred of creators were supported throughout their artistic process and the administrative, financial, technical, logistical and communicational maze inherent in each production. LA SERRE – arts vivants
LA SERRE is a decisive incubator to improve the conditions under which emerging artists in the performing arts carry out their work. It positions itself as a collaboration agent between artists, various partners and the community. Artistically, LA SERRE promotes works and approaches that forge transparent links between the arts, nature and society and which foster encounters between the various disciplinary and sectorial sectors. ESN514
The digital security school is a project overseen by Alternatives in collaboration with the Canada Research Chair in Media Education and Human Rights and CIRA. By offering group training, resources and online tutorials adapted to research, activist, journalism and international solidarity, the ESN514 defends and fights for civil rights such as private life and freedom of speech in a digital environment more and more vulnerable to surveillance practices operated by governments, corporations, etc. ESN514.net
BAnQ Vieux-Montréal
Located on Viger Avenue, in the imposing complex including the building of the former École des hautes études commerciales, the Montréal archives centre is part of the network of 10 Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) archives centres, located throughout Québec. The Montréal archives centre has more than 26 linear kilometres of textual documents as well as maps, prints and photographs, awaiting for researchers to unveil their history. The Society for the Celebration of Montréal's 375th Anniversary is a non-profit organization whose mission is to organize the celebrations and socioeconomic contributions that will mark Montréal's 375th anniversary in 2017.
