1. Red Lobster® Brings More Value to the Table this October with $3 Appetizers, NEW Weekday Daily Deals and Kids Eat Free for Halloween 
   Red Lobster is giving guests more ways to enjoy their favourites this October, with four days of $3 appetizers over the Thanksgiving long weekend, NEW Weekday Daily Deals, a new Endless Shrimp flavour and a Halloween weekend offer where kids in costume eat free when families dine in. "We want guests to have more reasons to say yes to Red Lobster when they're getting together," said Andy Pitts, Chief Marketing Officer at Red Lobster. "This October, that means more value and choice, with some fun built in, all centered on the food, flavour and hospitality they expect from us."
2. SUBARU ANNOUNCES PRICING FOR 2027 CROSSTREK 
   The new model year expands the Crosstrek hybrid lineup with the addition of the Hybrid Onyx, creating a new entry point to Subaru's hybrid system while preserving the all-road, all-weather capability that has long defined the Crosstrek. For 2027, the Crosstrek is offered in six trim levels: Convenience, Touring, Onyx, Hybrid Onyx, Limited and Hybrid Limited. Gasoline-powered models feature the 180-horsepower 2.5-litre SUBARU BOXER engine, while Hybrid Onyx and Hybrid Limited models produce 194 total system horsepower from Subaru's series-parallel hybrid system. Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time All-Wheel Drive remains standard across the lineup.
3. Intellistake Highlights NanoAi's Collaboration With Global Defense Helmet Leader Gentex Corporation 
   Modern helmets increasingly carry cameras, night-vision systems, communications equipment, displays and sensors; devices that have historically demanded their own batteries, cables and interfaces for each piece of equipment, adding significant weight and complexity. Gentex's RAILINK^® Power and Data ARC Rail System solves this challenge by integrating power and data directly into the helmet's accessory rail, allowing compatible devices to share power and communicate through a single headborne platform. 4. The CBSA is adjusting hours of service at four land ports of entry in Alberta 
   The new hours will take effect at 2:00 a.m. (Mountain Time) November 1, 2026, and will remain in place until 2:00 a.m. (Mountain Time) March 14, 2027. These adjustments in hours of operation will allow for better coordination between Canada and the U.S., including in cases where a traveller is inadmissible and is directed to return immediately to the country they came from. It will also mean greater clarity for all travellers as to when the ports of entry are operating. If a port of entry is not available at the time a traveller needs to cross, travellers can use an alternate port of entry. The CBSA works with emergency services on both sides of the border to ensure that they can cross the border during an emergency situation.
5. Canada's Leading Financial Institutions, Telecom Providers and EnStream Join Forces to Launch the Cross-Sector Anti-Fraud Exchange 
   Participating institutions will contribute confirmed fraud intelligence to CSAFE. EnStream operates the platform which aggregates, standardizes, and enriches the contributed data using secure infrastructure and controls, while applying proprietary intelligence to help assess the continuity and current relevance of each record. CSAFE operates within a defined governance framework, and each participant independently uses the intelligence generated by the platform within its own fraud management processes and controls. CSAFE is a collective effort with participating institutions each contributing intelligence on confirmed fraud, and each drawing on a shared, broader view of confirmed fraud to strengthen their own defences.
6. Canadian Utilities breaks ground on the Yellowhead Pipeline 
   "It is a great day for Canadian Utilities and our partners, a great day for Alberta, and a particularly proud day for the team that has worked tirelessly to bring the Yellowhead project from concept to construction," said Bob Myles, Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Utilities. "Yellowhead represents a major investment in Alberta's future and a demonstration of Canadian Utilities' ability to plan, finance, permit, construct and operate large-scale infrastructure that our customers and economy depend upon." Representing an estimated investment of $2.9 billion, the natural gas pipeline is expected to create approximately 2,000 direct construction jobs.
7. National Fuel Day returns to Circle K on October 15

"National Fuel Day is an opportunity to turn an everyday pit stop into meaningful savings at the pump, reinforcing our commitment to give back to the communities we serve." In Ontario, the impact of Fuel Day will extend beyond the pump. Circle K is partnering with local children's hospitals to support pediatric healthcare across the region. For every fuel transaction completed during Fuel Day in Ontario, Circle K will donate $1, up to a total contribution of $50,000.
8. Intellistake's Acquisition Target NanoAi Proves Explosive Threat Detection in Under One Second at a 10ft Standoff Distance 
   In many field settings, the only way to confirm a threat has been to approach it. Widely used field screening methods, including swab-based screening and ion mobility spectrometry, require physical contact or close proximity to the object being tested. NanoAi's platform is designed to perform standoff detection, removing the requirement for an operator to approach a suspected threat. Today's result demonstrates that capability against the first targeted explosive. NanoAi has developed a proprietary sensor designed to identify specific threat signatures in the air without physical contact with the source.^[1] 
9. Maverick Distillery Is Building Canada's Bourbon House, One Barrel at a Time 
   Ask Canadian whisky drinkers what's missing from the shelf lately, and most will say bourbon. With the Canada-U.S. trade war making many American spirits hard to find, Maverick Distillery went straight to the source, scavenged the best barrels and brought them home, keeping more of the work, and the jobs, in Canada. "Bourbon is born in Kentucky. That's the rule, and we respect it," said Craig Peters, founder of Maverick Distillery. "So we went and found great barrels and brought them home. Everything after the border is Canadian: the blending, finishing, bottling and jobs. Canadians shouldn't have to give up great bourbon because of politics."
