Canadians encouraged to join The Weather Network's online community to enjoy a more personalized, hyper-local weather experience

OAKVILLE, ON, Oct. 17, 2017 /CNW/ - The Weather Network and French counterpart MétéoMédia today announced the launch of a national brand campaign designed to highlight the many ways Canada's #1 weather source can help Canadians stay safe and more in control of their busy lives.  

"While millions of Canadians rely on The Weather Network and MétéoMédia every day for accurate forecasts, insights and analysis, many people are unaware of just how personalized they can make their weather experience," said Marni Otis, Head of Marketing at Pelmorex Weather Networks. With this campaign, we want to encourage Canadians to become more weather ready by tapping into our hyper-local forecasts, customized weather alerts, and photo and video sharing capabilities."

Launched in early October, the cross-platform marketing campaign contains a mix of digital, television, social and out-of-home billboards. Running over the next year in both English and French, the campaign also includes a contest component that gives Canadians the chance to win a $1,000 CDN Visa gift card. The Weather Network provides weather and public safety alerts to all Canadians and exclusive weather information for those who join the online community.

Taking a personal and relatable tone, the ads will remind Canadians to be weather ready at all times by receiving customized weather warnings and alert notifications for their saved locations, personalizing their weather to get real-time forecasts wherever they are, and joining a robust community of weather enthusiasts by uploading and exploring weather videos and photos (#ShareYourWeather).

The Weather Network/MétéoMédia was recently named Canada's #1 weather source and is the #1 weather brand in Canada (comScore, August 2017).
