An unique advertising campaign for the MSSS to fight the flu will be taking up residence in Quebec homes for months to come
MONTREAL, Oct. 31, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - For a second consecutive year, kbs+ montreal has created a campaign for the Minister of Health and Social Services (MSSS) to encourage Quebecers to get the flu vaccine. To accomplish this, kbs+ has brought its little green monster out of retirement and into Quebec homes on tissue boxes and television screens.
Personifying the flu virus with humour, the little monster stars in a TV cartoon where he secretly sneaks around everywhere; proving that the flu can strike at any time. The captivating 30 second spot is accompanied by an equally engaging soundtrack for maximum effect and recall. A 10 second banner ad with the same messaging will also appear during TV shows.
"We put our culture of invention to work for the client, as that's the only way to stand out from the crowd today. We created a relevant communication tool for this public awareness campaign, that being a box of tissues. Developed in collaboration with Cascades, these special tissue boxes were designed to get noticed at the point-of-sale as well as inside Quebec homes, for the duration of the campaign and beyond", explains Annie Aubert, president of kbs+ montreal. The tissue boxes will be sold in packages of 3 and 6 at various IGA, Jean Coutu, Wal-Mart and Proxim stores throughout the province.
"Using the tissue box was a natural. It allowed us to print information promoting the importance of getting the flu vaccine, as well as show how rampant and indiscriminate the virus is via the little green monster", says Benoît Mendreshora, creative director of kbs+ montreal.
All advertising will invite the public to learn more about both vaccination and the flu by visiting the website: sante.gouv.qc.ca.
