Gillette DRAFTED: The Search for Canada's Next Sportscaster pits
prospective sportscasters in broadcasting challenges to land dream job
TORONTO, Sept. 17 /CNW/ - Score Media Inc. (TSX: SCR) in partnership with Gillette will debut a dynamic new television series this fall, Gillette DRAFTED: The Search for Canada's Next Sportscaster, premiering on September 21st at 11:30 p.m. EDT on The Score. The program will feature a select group of finalists competing for a one-year contract with Score Media to become a multi-platform sportscaster, contributing to The Score, theScore.com and ScoreMobile, plus a one-year spokesperson contract with Gillette.

The DRAFTED sportscaster search began in May 2009 and saw live auditions take place in various Canadian cities over the spring and summer. Contestants could also submit audition materials, and both will be featured as part of the television program. The series will see executive producer Derek Snider and the judging panel narrow the field of prospective sportscasters to a final five contestants. The finalists will then compete in a series of elimination-style challenges, culminating in the competition finale and crowning of Canada's Next Sportscaster.
As The Score's program partner, Gillette has a rich sporting history and over 100 years of experience helping guys look and feel their best. DRAFTED segments will appear nightly throughout the fall on The Score, tracking the contestants from the early audition process through to the competition finals. Viewers will be able to keep tabs on their favourite budding sportscasters, catch highlights from the regional auditions, enjoy plenty of bloopers featuring DRAFTED contestants and along the way catch their favourite Score personalities doing what they do best. The Score will also be offering full contest coverage at the official DRAFTED site, www.DRAFTED.ca.
