International book tour to kick off on February 12 with stops in Toronto & Vancouver
TORONTO, Feb. 19, 2014 /CNW/ - Author, filmmaker, and wellness personality Joe Cross has spent three years since the release of his award-winning documentary of personal transformation Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead providing the film's audience of 10 million people worldwide with his tips, suggestions and recipes for following the example he set in the film. To date, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead has inspired its audience to consume more than 180 million glasses of juice and lose more than 12 million pounds. Recognizing the need for a comprehensive suite of plans and more detailed information, he authored "The Reboot with Joe Juice Diet" to be published by Greenleaf Books, (ISBN: 978-1-62634-081-7) available in Canada and the U.S. starting February 4th. Noted expert Dr. Joel Fuhrman who oversaw Joe's own journey from obesity and disease, to wellness and vitality, contributed the book's foreword.
In the book, Joe recounts details from his own journey, including his battle to lose weight, overcome a debilitating illness, and then maintain the wellbeing he achieved after a 5-month diet of vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans and seeds. It also includes:
- Success stories from average people who have applied Joe's principles and followed his plans to address illness and lose 5, 10, and 50, even 100+ lbs.
- Techniques for preparing for a "Reboot" in order to ensure maximum results
- How to adapt the program to cash- and time-strapped lifestyles
- A new and healthy perspective on processed food
- Strategies for transitioning back into a world filled with a dizzying array of choices
- A broad spectrum of easy-to-make recipes to suit any palate
In addition to essential information that details the hows, whens and whys of doing a Reboot, the book also contains powerful statistics which help make sense of the epidemic of obesity and behavioral illness plaguing the developed world, as well as proven strategies for encouraging behavioral modification.

ABOUT JOE CROSS
Joe Cross is filmmaker, entrepreneur, author and wellness advocate. He directed, produced and was the subject of the documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead; authored "The Reboot with Joe Juice Diet" (Greenleaf Books); and is credited with having accelerated the plant-based eating movement by media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, The Times of London and the Dr. Oz Show. His second documentary film will be released in 2014.
Joe began his business career as a trader on the Sydney Futures Exchange where he worked from the early 1980s until 1998. He subsequently managed a diverse portfolio of assets in telecommunications, media, technology and financial services for Queensland Press Ltd., and in 2003 began investing his own capital through his investment vehicle Jaymsea Investments Pty Ltd. Despite his commercial success, Joe found himself at age 40 overweight and in ill health, and elected to take matters into his own hands. After consultation with noted US doctor Joel Fuhrman, Joe embarked on a 60-day journey of transformation across the US, consuming nothing but the juice of fresh vegetables and fruits. That journey - filled with personal milestones for Joe, and eye-opening experiences with average Americans-- was captured on film, and has become the award-winning documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. Seen by more than 10 million people around the world, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead has inspired millions of people to follow Joe's example and reclaim their own health and vitality by adopting plant-based eating habits. The response to the film was so overwhelming Joe founded Reboot with Joe (www.rebootwithjoe.com), a health and wellness company that offers support, encouragement, community, media and tools to everyday people.
Joe lives in New York and Sydney.
