The Public Curator visits Nunavik for the first time

PUVIRNITUQ, QC, June 17, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Public Curator is visiting Nunavik for the first time in the organization's history. Normand Jutras arrived in the region yesterday and will stay until Friday, talking about the mission of the organization he oversees, as well as meeting with the people he represents and stakeholders from the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services.

"While Nunavik may be the least densely populated region in Québec, it still has its share of incapacitated people," Mr. Jutras said. "In the case of individuals under public supervision, my role is to protect them, protect their rights, and oversee the administration of their assets. This is quite a challenge, especially given the distance involved."
