The Public Affairs Association of Canada (PAAC) to Honour Alison Loat and Michael MacMillan at Annual Award of Distinction Luncheon
TORONTO, June 2, 2015 /CNW/ - The Public Affairs Association of Canada will honour the 2015 recipients of the PAAC Award of Distinction, Alison Loat and Michael MacMillan, at a luncheon to be held during the PAAC Annual Conference on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at The National Club, Toronto.
Since 2001, PAAC has presented an Award of Distinction to a member of the public affairs community who, over their career, has made a significant contribution to public affairs in Canada.
Alison Loat and Michael MacMillan are the co-founders of Samara Canada, a non-partisan charity dedicated to reconnecting citizens to politics. Samara's work was used to develop federal legislation on democratic reform, improve politics curricula, the orientation of newly elected MPs and initiatives to improve citizens' participation in politics.
