The Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés announces the winners
of Excalibur, the unique Canada-wide tournament for the new generation of HR

MONTREAL, March 22 /CNW Telbec/ - On March 19 and 20, HR management and industrial relations students from across Canada met in Montreal to compete in the 24th Excalibur Tournament, organized by the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés and supported by the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations (CCHRA).

This Tournament is the event of the year for future HR professionals. It also remains extremely popular, as was clearly confirmed again this year when 69 students from 23 universities came to match wits in this challenging competition.

"The Excalibur Tournament reflects the Ordre's intense interest in the future of the profession. We are proud to present this event, which is vital for the upcoming generation, and to focus attention on the major role HR management plays in organizations," explained Florent Francoeur, CHRP, President and CEO of the Ordre.

Excalibur: a unique Canadian event

Year after year, Excalibur illustrates the excellence and vitality of future HR professionals in Canada. The Tournament is an annual event that brings together business people, key personalities in the human resources community, academics and students who all share a concern for the management of human capital in organizations.

Excalibur is an exhilarating experience for students that gives them a preview of the real working world. This year, they analyzed an actual business case from Cascades Inc. during the final event. Throughout the Tournament, participating teams are required to analyze a number of case studies and their work is evaluated by some 30 jurors.

"There's no doubt that these highly talented students, who prepared for the Tournament over a number of weeks, will be ideal recruits for Canadian businesses," added Francoeur.

Results: the team from Concordia University takes first place!

The first Excalibur prize, together with a $3,000 scholarship, was won by the team from Concordia University, composed of Mitchell Robitaille, Rebecca Golt and Scott Fisher, and accompanied by coach Aaron Dresner.

The second prize, along with a scholarship of $2,250, was awarded to the team from University of Waterloo, composed of Amanda Briganti, Sara Cleland and Alexandra Sleghel, and accompanied by coach Len Luksa.
