THE NUTCRACKER MARKET OF LES GRANDS BALLETS CANADIENS DE MONTRÉAL
TAKE A TRIP TO THE LAND OF GIFTS FROM NOVEMBER 25 TO DECEMBER 5!
MONTREAL, Nov. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - Get your Christmas lists ready! The countdown has begun for the Nutcracker Market, which will run from Thursday, November 25 to Sunday, December 5, 2010, every day from 11 a.m. As many as 15,000 people are expected.
Over 70 exhibitors in the areas of fashion and accessories, gourmet pleasure, home and decoration, beauty and well-being, kids and toys and other gifts to discover will present their authentic products (for many the result of eco-friendly practices), their exclusive labels, their inventive and stylish collections. For spokesperson Dorothée Berryman, the Nutcracker Market is an event based on imagination and creativity in all its forms. "The Market's colourful and electrifying atmosphere, not to mention the vast range of products, will give visitors a shopping experience unlike any other—fun, affordable, and a source of countless gift ideas for the Holiday season. You'll find something there for all your friends and family members." Several activities are planned for the Market's two weekends.
Announced in the summer of 2010, the inaugural edition of the Nutcracker Market was organized by the team of Les Grands Ballets, at the instigation of its Executive Director Alain Dancyger. Presided over by Honorary President Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, the event is philanthropic in nature. Its aim is to raise money for The Nutcracker Fund for Children - allowing children from disadvantaged communities to attend a performance of The Nutcracker - and for the restoration of the work's sets and costumes, designed by choreographer Fernand Nault in 1964.
