SAINT-DONAT, QC, Nov. 25, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Electric Circuit is pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the municipality of Saint-Donat, as well as the commissioning of a new public charging station for electric vehicles. Visitors can now charge their vehicles in the municipal parking lot in front of Place de l'Église, located on rue Principale.
"By contributing to the development and expansion of the network of electric vehicle charging stations, the municipality of Saint-Donat is demonstrating that transportation electrification is well underway in Québec. With the numerous actions and the new Transportation Electrification Action Plan 2015–2020 unveiled a month ago, our government is showing its commitment to fighting greenhouse gas emissions," said Pierre Moreau, Minister responsible for the Lanaudière region.
During the recent commissioning of the charging station, Mayor Joé Deslauriers said, "I am very proud that our municipality has joined the Electric Circuit. This investment is the beginning of an indispensable roll-out for Saint-Donat in its ongoing efforts to preserve the unique quality of our environment."
"We are delighted to welcome the municipality of Saint-Donat, whose notoriety and reputation among vacationers extends well beyond the Lanaudière region," said France Lampron, Director – Transportation Electrification at Hydro-Québec on behalf of the partners of the Electric Circuit. "Not only will it expand the service offering in a popular area, the new charging station is located in an easily accessible location, along Route 125."
