The International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC) Celebrates its 15th Anniversary Teaching English to International Students in Canada
TORONTO, July 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Over 800 students from around the world dressed entirely in white gathered at the Distillery District over the weekend to celebrate ILAC's 15th anniversary. Joined by teachers and staff, the ILAC White Party commemorated the school's success teaching English to international students in Canada since 1997.
The International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC) is Canada's leading English language school, actively recruiting over 10,000 foreign students a year to its campuses in Toronto and Vancouver. International education is a rapidly growing industry which contributes $6.5 billion to the Canadian economy. English language learners account for more than half of all study permits issued to foreign students that enter the country, many of whom eventually immigrate with relevant skills and credentials that are needed across Canada.
There is fierce competition among countries for full-paying and ambitious overseas students. Currently, Canada is considered one of the top four education destinations in the world, along with the UK, US and Australia.
Part of ILAC's popularity is due to the diversity of its students and support staff - students come from over 70 countries and on-site counselors speak 14 different languages. ILAC also has pathway agreements with more than 40 universities and colleges across Canada, making it easier for foreign students to transition into higher education.
