TORONTO, May 6, 2019 /CNW/ - The Chopped Leaf, an emerging fresh casual restaurant brand with a focus on real food on the go, is targeting Southern Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada for expansion. With 100 units already committed to in Canada and the United States, the company has announced plans to open at least 20 additional locations through franchise partnerships and strategic development. The new locations will create approximately 15-25 new jobs per location.
The Chopped Leaf's development is led by Innovative Food Brands Inc., as well as Founder and Brand President of The Chopped Leaf, Blair Stevens. Markets slated for substantial growth in 2019 are Southern Ontario and Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Stevens is optimistic about the brand's development. Our restaurants not only satisfy this need but do so with delectable flavours and innovative menu options," says Stevens.
The Chopped Leaf was founded by Stevens and his wife Karla, based on the strong belief that there was a gap in the quick service industry which fit their healthy lifestyle. Recognizing that there was a growing demand for real food on the go they passionately created a concept that appealed to the active, busy person that wanted a high-quality meal served quickly. With their first restaurant opening in 2009, in Kelowna B.C. Blair and Karla worked daily in the store developing manuals, tweaking recipes, and perfecting every aspect of the brand. By late 2010, they were ready to franchise, and by 2011 their first franchise location on Robson Street in Vancouver, BC.
Now, with 80 successful franchise locations opened in Canada and the US, The Chopped Leaf is actively seeking aspiring entrepreneurs and qualified franchisee partners to open their own restaurants.
