The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada Asks Canadians to Help Grant Their 25,000th Wish

TORONTO, Dec. 12, 2017 /CNW/ - For the second year in a row, The Children's Wish Foundation has partnered with Mosaic, a North American marketing agency, this time to grant their 25,000th wish for a young teen named Jayden. From that wish, King Jay apparel was born, a line of clothing whose sale this holiday season will help grant the next 25,000 wishes.
A former athlete, 18-year-old Jayden Strauss of Edmonton recently faced his toughest opponent yet: Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma. While sadly losing his battle with cancer, his memory lives on, partly because of the wish he made. Originally, all he wished for was a pair of custom created sneakers, but after being delighted with the new "fire on his feet," it was the fire in his fight that inspired King Jay: an apparel line in Jayden's memory. Surrounded by his family, Jayden passed away on November 14th but hoped his apparel would be his "most grand goodbye."
Designed to unite us all, each piece is emblazoned with one of four graphic shoelace designs. With all proceeds going to Children's Wish, King Jay will help grant more wishes for more courageous kids.
"We're asking people to join the kingdom by purchasing a piece of King Jay apparel and help us grant the next 25,000 wishes for Canadian children diagnosed with a life-threatening illness like Jayden," says Lyanne Goulin, National Director, Wish Granting, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
This unique collaboration has already been seen on the likes of the Miami Heat, and will be available to the public starting December 5th, just in time to warm the hearts of Canadians this holiday season.

About The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada:
The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is the largest all Canadian wish granting charity dedicated to granting wishes to Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. For more than 30 years, Children's Wish has worked tirelessly to grant heartfelt wishes for 25,000 children and their families.
This year, Children's Wish is enjoying the largest wish granting year yet, and expects to grant nearly 1,200 new wishes across the country with the help of volunteers and generous donors; that is approximately three wishes each and every day, all year long. Each wish is the child's most heartfelt wish, and carefully structured to meet the particular needs of the child and their family.
Already this year, we are experiencing unprecedented increases of wish referrals through our strong medical community relationships for our wishes granted to children with life-threatening illnesses. Now more than ever, we are encouraging Canadians to donate and support The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada to help us continue to grant the next most heartfelt wish. Children's Wish is a national charity with chapters in every province and territory. For more information, visit our website at www.childrenswish.ca.
