TORONTO, Feb. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - After analyzing all respective candidates, the Canadian Arab Federation is proud to endorse Mr. Brian Topp to be the leader of the New Democratic Party. We believe that Brian's experience as a party strategist and policy maker separates him from the rest of the candidates. Aside from working in the heart of a highly successful provincial government in Saskatchewan, Brian worked under Ed Broadbent in the 80's and was the national campaign director under the late Jack Layton in the 2000's before being elected as the party president in May of 2011. This political background along with Brian's experience in the private sector and the labor movement gives him a fusion of experience fit for the leader of the New Democratic Party.
We applaud Brian's dedication to social democracy and fighting for Canadians across the country. Canada has unfortunately regressed in the areas of social and economic equality and we believe in Brian's plan to bring the country back to the international forefront in these areas. These issues along with his stance on foreign policy, more directly to the Middle East, have given us the confidence to stand directly behind him on his path to the leadership position of Canada's official opposition.
For these reasons above, we the Canadian Arab Federation will support Brian Topp in his campaign for the leader of the New Democratic Party. In order for you to vote in the upcoming NDP leadership race you must be a member of the NDP, if you haven't signed up yet visit www.ndp.ca and sign up before February 18th.
Please note, the Canadian Arab Federation is officially non-partisan but as a community organization find it necessary to be involved in all levels of government.
