The Bank of Canada Releases the June Issue of the Financial System Review Français

OTTAWA, June 8, 2015 /CNW/ - The June issue of the Financial System Review will be released on Thursday, 11 June 2015.

Description:

The Financial System Review features the following sections:

 

Risk Assessment: This section of the Financial System Review (FSR) outlines the Governing Council's evaluation of the key risks to the Canadian financial system. After a brief survey of macrofinancial conditions, the principal risks are examined. The objective of the FSR is not to predict the most likely outcomes for the financial system but to raise early awareness of key risks and promote mitigating actions.

 

Reports: This issue features the following reports, which   examine, in greater depth, selected issues of relevance to the financial system:

  • Canadian Open-End Mutual Funds: An Assessment of Potential Vulnerabilities
  • Assessing Vulnerabilities in the Canadian Financial System

 

Lock-Up:

At 8:30 (ET), journalists are invited to review the Financial System Review, under embargo, at the Bank's head office in Ottawa (please use the entrance at 151 O'Connor Street) and at the regional offices in Toronto (150 King Street West, Conference Room) and Montréal (1501 McGill College Avenue, Salle Bernard-Bonin). Please be sure to have your press card with you.

 

For security reasons, those wishing to attend must confirm their presence by calling Media Relations at 613 782-8782 before noon (ET) on Wednesday, 10 June 2015. Journalists who have not registered WILL NOT BE ADMITTED to the lock-up.

 

At 09:00 (ET), senior Bank officers will provide background information and respond to questions on the content of the FSR. Information gathered at the session may be used freely in news reports and commentaries, provided it is not attributed to the Bank or its officers. Electronic recording is not permitted.

 

At 10:30 (ET), the lock-up ends and the embargo is lifted.
