The "Association des juristes de l'État" reports illegal practice of
profession at "Conseil du trésor" and at "Ministère des finances"

QUÉBEC, May 6 /CNW Telbec/ - The Association des juristes de l'État (AJE), union representing Quebec government lawyers and notaries, filed with the Barreau du Québec and to the Chambre des notaires eight complaints concerning the il egal practice of law.

The AJE has reasonable and probable grounds to believe that at least five employees of Conseil du trésor and three of ministère des Finances give legal advice without being members of the Bar or the Chambre des notaires.

These complaints have also been brought to the attention of Mrs Kathleen Weil, minister responsible for the application of the Professional Code and the acts constituting the professional orders.

These new complaints are to be added to fourteen complaints made last week concerning illegal practice of law at the ministry of Revenue.

The AJE is asking the government, the Bar and the Chambre des notaires to take the necessary steps to insure the protection of the public.
