The Association des juristes de l'État denounces the illegal practice of the
profession in Québec government departments
QUÉBEC CITY, May 17 /CNW Telbec/ - The Association des juristes de l'État (AJE) has sent 41 new complaints to the Barreau du Québec and to the Chambre des notaires. The complaints pertain to the illegal practice of the law and notary professions in thirteen departments of the Québec government.
The AJE has reasonable and probable grounds to believe that at least 41 employees in thirteen Québec government departments are providing opinions and consultations of a legal nature, without being members of either of these professional associations.
These new complaints are in addition to the 22 complaints regarding illegal practice that have been filed in recent weeks with the Ministère du Revenu, the Ministère des Finances and the Conseil du trésor.
These cases have also been brought to the attention of the Minister responsible for professional laws, Mrs. Kathleen Weil.
The AJE is calling upon the authorities concerned to take the necessary steps to ensure that the public is protected.
