LAVAL, QC, Oct. 10, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - It is with pride that SkyVenture Montreal will be hosting the 2nd World Indoor Skydiving Championship from October 20th to 22nd, 2017. It took two years of relentless work to become the host of this worldwide competition, a unique event that will welcome over 300 participants from 23 countries and during which all eyes will be turned to the region of Laval. The competition will be broadcasted live on the Championship's website, on the event's Facebook page, as well as on the Olympic Channel. This is no mistake, indoor skydiving, or bodyflight, as it is now called, was shortlisted to become an Olympic sport, which creates a lot of excitement around the discipline.
The bodyflight celebrities
The world of bodyflight is new, but already, some athletes have excelled on the international scene, namely Maja Kuczynska (sponsored by Redbull) and Kyra Poh. These two young ladies have largely contributed to the democratization of bodyflight (This video has reached over 32 million views!) and we are proud to welcome them among us.
What is indoor skydiving?
Bodyflight is a new and revolutionary sport allowing one to fly in a vertical recirculatory wind tunnel, a technology that replicates free falling. The sport of bodyflight is recognized by the FAI, an organization supporting several worldwide annual competitions.
Thousands of people will be watching WISC 2017. Will you join them?
