The 2017 Prix Domus grand winners - A young generation of entrepreneurs at the heart of the 34th edition Français
MONTREAL, Feb. 13, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Over 350 professionals from the construction and renovation industry, along with their partners, gathered on February 11 for the unveiling of the 22 winners at the 34th Domus Awards Gala, organized by the Association des professionnels de la construction et de l'habitation du Québec (APCHQ) – Metropolitan Montreal region. This annual awards show pays tribute to the excellence and talent of entrepreneurs working in residential renovation and construction in Great Montreal.
This year, 55 finalists were evaluated by an impartial jury to determine the winners of the latest edition. Construction Eric Robert inc took home the Public's choice; Construction N. Deslauriers, the Jury's choice; Avantage plus, the title of Renovator of the Year; Groupe Montclair, the title of Builder of the Year; and for a second time, Écohabitations Boréales inc. was named Green Builder.
"The Prix Domus are much more than the 378 awards handed out and 3,200 projects submitted in the past 34 years. They highlight the importance of recognizing the talent of new local entrepreneurs. The awards also celebrate the quality of the work of these companies and their role as a unique lever of economic development in Metropolitan Montreal," underline Valérie Taillefer and Hugo Girard, BMR ambassadors and hosts of 34th edition of APCHQ's Prix Domus Gala – Metropolitan Montreal region.
An entrepreneurial generation looking to the future
A major trend has swept the Quebec construction and renovation industry this year. The majority of this year's winners recognize and promote the use of eco-energetic material and place great importance on environmentally friendly practices and sustainable development. Several projects submitted were designed with these values in mind, as part of a broader green building trend, which includes renewable energy and efficient water management.
