Teliphone Navigata-Westel Communication Inc. Announces Completion of Current Acquisition and Integration Plan and the Appointment of 3 New Executives; Sandeep Panesar appointed Chief Executive Officer
VANCOUVER, Aug. 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Vancouver-based Teliphone Navigata-Westel Communication Inc. (TNW) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its 18 month acquisition and integration plan and the appointment of a new Executive Management Team.
With his mandate of the Company's first phase of strategic growth complete, Mr. Benoit Laliberte, has stepped down from this position as CEO and the Company has appointed a new executive team who will lead it into its next phase of development. Mr. Laliberte, had been the CEO since December 2012 where he spearheaded the Company's acquisition of the key assets of Navigata Communications 2009 Inc. to form TNW. Under his management the company made 8 further acquisitions resulting in a 12-fold increase in revenue. He leaves Teliphone well positioned for further growth and will now pursue other telecommunications opportunities.
Sandeep Panesar, the company's former Chief Operating Officer will now take on the role of CEO. Mr. Panesar who joined Teliphone in 2011 after many years in telecommunications, has been instrumental in refining operational procedures and a human resource team which have been key in the company's turnaround. He will build on the growth established by Mr. Laliberte and continue to implement state-of-the-art management in the Company.
Glen Gregory who has been with the company for 25 years and served most recently as Senior Vice President, Engineering has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure with Teliphone, he developed the company's national network and data centres and has both the leadership and management skills to take on the role of COO.
Owen Gilbert has been appointed TNW's Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Gilbert is a well known veteran of the telecom industry and has been with Teliphone for 15 years. He has an intimate knowledge of the industry and his established credibility will be a key factor in implementing the company's business plan over the next few years.
Outgoing CEO, Benoit Laliberte stated, "I have been very pleased with what has been accomplished over the last year and a half. Together with our team we have transformed TNW into one of the largest data centre operations and independent facilities-based CLECs in Canada and my mission is complete.
