Télébec and NorthernTel cancel meetings of debentureholders
HALIFAX, Oct. 25 /CNW/ - Télébec, Limited Partnership ("Télébec") and NorthernTel, Limited Partnership ("NorthernTel") announced today that, due to feedback from debentureholders, they have each cancelled the meetings of debentureholders that had been scheduled for November 1, 2010. The meetings had been scheduled to consider certain proposed trust indenture amendments in connection with a proposed transfer of all or substantially all of the assets and undertaking of Télébec and NorthernTel to Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership.
The meetings have been cancelled as feedback from debentureholders to date has indicated that the proposed amendments to the debentures would not receive the required approval of the votes cast (66 2/3 per cent for Télébec and 75 per cent for NorthernTel).
Télébec and NorthernTel, or either of them, may in the future revisit the proposed amendments to their debentures or propose alternative or additional amendments. If any determination is made in this regard, Télébec and NorthernTel will advise the respective debentureholders accordingly.
