TekSavvy Announces Appointment of New Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer
With years of experience in the telecom sector, Bram Abramson will help steer TekSavvy's efforts to protect Canadians' communications rights
CHATHAM, ON, April 2, 2014 /CNW/ - TekSavvy Solutions Inc., one of Canada's leading independent telecommunications service providers, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bram Abramson as its new Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer, effective immediately.
Bram joins TekSavvy from a major national law firm, where he advised a broad range of service providers and investors on network regulation and tariffing, media distribution and licensing, spectrum allocation, emergency communications, and broadcast and telecom mergers and acquisitions. Bram will help keep TekSavvy at the forefront of protecting Canadian consumers' communications rights in the face of growing challenges and opportunities.
Prior to becoming a communications lawyer, Bram worked in telecom strategy and policy. At TeleGeography, a global telecom analysis and mapping firm, he led research on international Internet infrastructure. At the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, he worked as a Senior Financial Analyst within the regulatory body's telecommunications branch, where he was involved with what is now the annual Communications Monitoring Report.
Bram holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Concordia University and a BCL and LLB in Law from McGill University. He has consistently been ranked by the Chambers Global directory as an up and coming telecommunications and broadcasting lawyer in Canada. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor of communications law at Osgoode Hall Law School, a co-author of the Regulatory Guide to Canadian Television, and past chair of the Canadian Bar Association's national Entertainment, Media and Communications Law section.
