In an effort to promote artists and beautify neighbourhoods Murality is born.
VANCOUVER, Dec. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Murality Society for the Arts is helping to revitalize Vancouver's Downtown Eastside through the creation of beautiful murals. 161 East Pender Street in Vancouver is the first location ready to exhibit public art.
Murality is a non-profit organization with a mandate to make changes that will enhance the lives of people. Murality will bring color and vitality to once derelict areas while promoting the talents of artists from Mexico in a unique way.
To make this project exciting the public mural will be chosen via a contest. Any artist from Mexico City can submit their entry for the wall; through voting on our website one winner will be chosen to come to Vancouver to paint their mural, as well as receive a significant cash prize.
"Murality is about changing lives, it can bring light to a once dark neighbourhood, put a smile on a passerby's face, and perhaps change the life of a passionate artist." Amalia Liapis, founder of Murality, "Small changes can have a big impact, I believe Murality can be that change."
