TEALPOWER Presents: From Broadway with Love: A Night of Song to Fight Cervical Cancer
Movement begun by the late Alison Salinas Launches with Inaugural Event on January 25th at Revival

TORONTO, Jan. 12, 2016 /CNW/ - The details of TEALPOWER's inaugural fundraising and awareness-raising event were announced today by Tyler Puley, TEALPOWER's co-founder. TEALPOWER Presents: From Broadway with Love: A Night of Song to Fight Cervical Cancer takes place January 25th, 2016 at Revival Bar, 783 College Street. TEALPOWER was established by beloved Toronto publicist Alison Salinas and Puley to raise awareness of cervical cancer and funds to fight the disease. Net proceeds from the event go to team #TEALPOWER's Ride to Conquer Cancer, benefitting the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
Doors open at 7 pm and the show, featuring some of Toronto's top musical theatre performers, begins at 8 pm. Following the show, the TEALPOWER Party kicks off at 9:30 pm. About Alison Salinas and TEALPOWER
Alison was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2013 at age 32. Ever the fighter, sitting idly by while going through treatment was not an option for Alison. The lack of information about cervical cancer inspired Alison to chronicle her journey on her Tealpower Canuck blog, which spread quickly through social media. She coined the name TEALPOWER as teal and white are the colour of cervical cancer awareness. Alison was continuing her mission to raise awareness about the disease when she sadly lost her battle in November, 2015. TEALPOWER is now an organization, co-founded by Alison's partner, Tyler Puley, which continues Alison's fight for cervical cancer education and a cure. TEALPOWER places an increased emphasis on raising funds for cervical cancer research through #Team TEALPOWER, Alison's team in the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre's annual cycling fundraiser, Ride To Conquer Cancer.
