Widest Canadian representation to date with powerful environmental themes emerging

TORONTO, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - TD Waterhouse presents Art with Heart, Casey House's signature fundraiser, October 19 at the Carlu. Over its 17-year history Art with Heart has earned a deserved reputation as an unparalleled contemporary art auction experience, benefitting HIV/AIDS treatment and support at Casey House.

Humanity's impact on our natural landscape is a theme explored in many of this year's exquisite Art with Heart offerings: from Greg Girard's already sold-out limited edition depicting the demolished neighbourhoods of Shanghai; to Eamon Mac Mahon's aerial photograph of stampeding bison on a smoldering northern plain; Ned Pratt's simple red shed against an Newfoundland ocean vista; Edward Burtynsky's undulating coal piles; Steven Nederveen's magical realist dreamland; Jonathan Johnson's post-industrialist harbour; Cape Dorset artist Ningeokuluk Teevee's playful polar bear on an ice floe; Toni Hafkenscheid's manicured gardens at Prospect Point; David Burdeny's startling panorama of a Japanese nori farm; Isabelle Hayeur's video treatment of the ruins of Manhattan's Governors Island; Jesse Boles' heroically-scaled waterworks facility;and Denis Farley's arresting juxtaposition of man-made versus natural waterfalls.

The 86-lot collection represents the most geographically diverse collection of Canadian artists ever assembled in the auction's history, including artists from coast to coast to coast. Other esteemed artists in the collection include Adad Hannah, James Lahey, Joshua Jensen-Nagle, Brendan Flanagan, John Abrams, Douglas Coupland, Diana Thorneycroft, Michael Smith, Katie Pretti and John Scott.

This year marks the tenth year of support for Art with Heart from Presenting Sponsor TD Waterhouse. "Casey House continues to provide an exemplary response to the crisis of HIV/AIDS," says Bill Hatanaka, Group Head, Global Wealth and CEO, TD Waterhouse Canada Inc. "TD recognizes that our success as a financial institution and a community partner is directly related to the health of our communities, and we're proud to support Casey House and its vital work."

The full collection including an index of artists can be viewed at href="">, where tickets and limited editions are available for purchase. A print catalogue is available to media by request, as are high-res images of the works.
